Practical answers to kids’ down-to-earth questions about earning money in fun and responsible ways.
Hundreds of workers from the childrens garment industry in New York protested the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act which will go into effect February 10, 2009. Spokesman Cory Silverstein of Kids Headquarters said the consequences of the CPSIA will be grave.
Despite the one year stay of enforcement for lead testing and certificates of content which the Consumer Product Safety Commission issued Friday, January 30, 2009, Silverstein stated that millions of pieces of safe product are being shipped back to the manufacturers. As a result, the manufacturers will be forced to destroy perfectly safe clothing at tremendous losses, forcing many to declare bankruptcy. Closed manufacturers means thousands of workers will lose their jobs.
Steve Levy of Star Ride Kids demonstrated the clothing components which would have to be tested and made a call for common sense.
Don Mays of Consumer Union which publishes Consumer Reports Magazine talked to WABC reporter Tappy Phillips and told her that implementation of the regulations was handled badly. He also said that parents don’t have to worry too much about the safety of clothing already in the marketplace.

It is quite amazing how technology makes life much easier these days, including making money. Home-based jobs such as blogging have been on increasing trend and have attracted a lot of attention – including kids. With free blog-hosting sites and several tutorials readily available to kids who have immediate access to the Internet, it is no wonder that many kids are getting the hang of blogging and being paid for it.
But making money through blogging can be competitive, as kid bloggers are faced up with professional bloggers who are much older and experienced than them. For kids to be effective in getting significant number of readers and advertisers, they need to have an edge in several factors, such as blog themes.
Blog themes are the ultimate attention grabber of both the blog reader and the potential advertiser. A blog that has a catchy design and offers optimal positioning for online advertisements is what readers and advertisers look for. This is what The Ultimate Blogging Theme offers Great color combinations, easy-to-navigate pages, and favourable placements for online ads and banners, The Ultimate Blogging Theme definitely gives any blog the edge over the competition.
What’s best about the Ultimate Blogging Theme is that it has easy-to-follow instructions that allow kids to make their blogs catchier and attractive than before.
Of course, kids still need to know other areas of blogging such as quality content, linking, and other stuff. As kids mature, so will their blogging expertise. Parents must also be on the ready to teach their kids about responsible blogging and financial management should they start to generate income.
